I'm Angela, aka Beady Eyes and the Admin for this network. I would love to hear from other Jewelry designers/artists/hobbyists what your favorite jewelry technique is.
My favorite technique(s) are metalsmithing techniques. I particularly get great satisfaction from manipulating and forming sheet metal. Applying heat, shaping with hammers, texturing and creating flowing dimensional pieces often with an influence straight from mother nature. I have tons left to learn about these techniques and I enjoy experimenting and challenging myself with new methods.
I just started working with PMC and I love it! You can do so much with it, you can make pendants, you can set stones, you can make links, you can make rings. The textures are endless! I'm having a blast. It is the coolest stuff ever!
I have so many favorites, but I must say that I have a love affair going with metal and my hammers. I like to see just how far I can push the two together. I also do love to carve wax and then proceed to the lost wax casting method. Sometimes I can find the neatest items on my daily walks to cast, to create unique one of a kind pieces.
